I started fishing around the same time I began to walk. Growing up on Pokegama Lake in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, I had all the fish I wanted right at my finger tips. I started out bass crazy. I would get up before light and row my boat into the calm bays and let the top water explosions get my heart racing. By the time I was 13, I graduated to a 7.5 hp Chrysler on a flat bottom duck boat.

Now, I was introduced into what became my passion and obsession, tight structure walleyes. The speed of life caught up with me and college slowed my fishing. Two years into college, the Army put a screeching halt to wetting a line. For six years there was a period in my life where fishing was limited. In those six years, I received an associate in forestry, had a sunny one year vacation in Iraq with the Army, and finally received my bachelors in Natural Resources Management.

Now I’m back with a vengeance guiding, tournament fishing and spending every bit of spare time on the water. In expanding my knowledge about fishing, and keep an open mind to all tackle; a good friend of mine suggested the Fergie spoon. I was instantly hooked and so were the fish. This thing is a weapon that you just may need a permit to carry in the future. I am ecstatic to be on board with Reel Bait and help show people what all of us as fisherman search for; that certain tackle that truly stands out and performs above the rest.
